About Regional Directorate

Regional Directorate, Central Board for Workers Education was started on 16th Sept -ember 1981 to catter the needs of Goan Work Force. Goa is the Smallest State of India, with Two Districts, North Goa and South Goa and Twelve Blocks. Its Population is 14.5 Lakh as per 2011 Census, out of which 11% are Tribals and 1.5 % SC. Goa is not having large scale industries but medium and small scale industries are existing in Goa. It is mainly a tourist place. Regional Directorate, Central Board For Workers Education, Goa is organizing and conducting programmes in Organized, Unorganized and Rural sectors in Goa. It has conducted various programmes in Organized sector in different industries like, in Pharma industries, Vedanta group (Sesa) Mines,V.M. Salgaonkar Mines  and for other mine workers, Transport, BSNL, I.T.I, Electricity Department, Goa Diary, Mormugao Port Trust, Glass and Packing industries, Goa Shipyard, Navy, Army. Central and State Government department Etc .DTNBWED has motivated thousands of employees to play a constructive role in socio-economic development of our country.

Similarly conducted various programmes in Unorganized and Rural sector for the benefit of women workers, SC/ST workers, Rural workers, Paddy workers, Cashew nut workers, Agricultural workers, Landless workers and others to improve the quality of life and standard of living of Goan Population . Thus DTNBWED Goa is doing a noble task of educating the work force of Goa for a systematic, progressive, continuous and overall development of Goa as well as our Motherland.
