About Regional Directorate

DTNBWED, Barrackpore started functioning in the year 1964.  The presently located alongwith other Regional Directorate, Kolkata and Zonal Directorate (EZ) in the same building owned by DTNBWED.  Three districts under its jurisdiction are border districts of Bangladesh.  Nature and cateogory of workers in the border districts needs special attention on designing training programme in the workers education.  All Training programmes of the Board are conducted within the jurisdiction.  Since the number of workers in the organized sector is less, emphasis is given on the training programme for rural and unorganized sectors.  The districts are pre-dominently dominated by the minority workers.

The jurisdiction of the directorate is covered by the following districts –

Northern Part of Kolkata (including Salt Lake and New Town)
North 24 Parganas
Nadia
Murshiadabad and
Half of Hooghly District comprising Hooghly Sadar and Chandan Nagar Sub Division.
