About Regional Directorate

The Gorakhpur Regional Directorate is located in the most popular state of India i.e. Uttar Pradesh competing of 75 districts with 822 blocks and 97941 populated villages and a massive population of 23 Crores (Approx.).
Gorakhpur Regional Directorate comprises of 17 districts of Eastern UP having a population of around 5 Crores and an area of 50807 Sq.km. Its geographical area extends from Bihar Border to the east .Regional Directorate, Gorakhpur comprises 17 Districts of Uttar Pradesh, Comprising of a big population in unorganized and rural sector. The main source of livelihood is agriculture, agricultural labor, un-organized sector workers in construction and some contractual work. Some employment in private sector also yields meager income levels not at par for comfortable living. Bantania (Forest) workers and bidi workers can also be found in some areas of the region.The literacy rate is low as compared to other region.
