About Regional Directorate |
Madurai Regional Directorate was started in the year 1963. Madurai centre covers southern parts of Tamilnadu which has workforce in organized, unorganized and Rural Sectors. The Organized sector includes, Power, Cement, Textiles, Chemicals, Heavy Electricals, Rubber, Defence, Transport, Plantation etc. Madurai centre has been conducting training programmes in all leading industries including BHEL. It is playing very significant role in training and educating workers in all sectors. This centre has so far completed 102 batches of Training of Trainers Course, 200 batches of Personality Development programmes and more than 2000 batches Unit Level Classes. Madurai centre has been playing a Major Role in eradicating Child Labour engaged in Beedi and Fireworks Industry in Sivakasi and Tirunelveli districts. Rural Workers are engaged in Paddy, Sugarcane, Plantain, stone quarries construction workers, Floriculture etc… So far, this centre has trained more than five Lakh workers. |
