About Regional Directorate

Regional Center established on 26th August 1963 at Bhilai District Durg. Chhattisgarh state was formed on 1 November 2000 by partitioning 16 Chhattisgarhi-speaking southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. Raipur was made its capital city on November 2000 this Regional Center shiffted on September 2003 at Raipur.

Metal : Bhilai Steel Plant, Jindal Steel and Power, Bharat Aluminium    Company
Engineering : Simplex Casting Ltd,
Mining : NMDC, Bastar South Eastern Coalfields (SECL) Bilaspur, MOIL Balaghat

Geographical Jurisdiction

The Jurisdiction for our center covered whole Chhattisgarh consisting 27 districts & 1 district Balaghat –MP. Chhattisgarh borders the states of Madhya Pradesh in the northwest, Maharashtra in the southwest, Andhra Pradesh in the south, Odisha in the east, Jharkhand in the northeast and Uttar Pradesh in the north.  Bastar-Dantewada, Jagdalpur, Sarguja, Gariyaband and some areas of Rajnandgoan district are affected by the Naxlied. In Chhattisgarh State the percentage of SC population are located   in   Bemetara, Durg, Bilaspur , Janjgir-champa district and percentage of ST population are found  in Bastar –Dantewara, Gariyabandh Sarguja, Raigarh,
